Campaign in Münster: join us!

Petition

Are you studying or working
at the University of Münster?

Or you simply don’t want the University of Münster to support a colonial state?

Then sign the Open Letter for an Academic Boycott here!

Around the world, an increasing number of universities are ending their cooperation with Israeli institutions that are alleged to be involved in the occupation, apartheid, and military research. For example, the University of Amsterdam and the University of Helsinki have ended their exchange programs with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University. In May 2024, the Conference of University Rectors in Spain (representing 76 public and private Spanish universities) decided to review all partnerships with Israeli universities and research centers and, where necessary, terminate them. More international achievements of the Academic Boycott movement can be found here.

The academic boycott has become an effective means of drawing attention to Israel’s colonial system of oppression and building international pressure.

We in Münster have also decided to focus our efforts on the academic boycott and, in doing so, join this international movement. Our university must no longer be complicit in a regime that has oppressed the Palestinian people for decades and is attempting to destroy them through genocidal violence.

Our End Academic Complicity working group (AK) is committed to ensuring the success of this long-term campaign, with the clear goal of having the University of Münster implement our demands. To achieve this, we must build pressure and grassroots power together, because the university administration will not act on its own.
